There is a divine path laid out before you, but it’s up to you whether or not you want to walk it. Many times you’ll be redirected back to this path, but that doesn’t mean that there’s an energy that’s going to force you to walk it. Because of your free will, you always have a choice. You can listen to your heart’s guidance and have faith that it’s leading you to where you want to go, or you can give in to fear and follow the path that your ego is momentarily pulling you towards. And I say momentarily because there will always be another force pulling you in another direction.
If you walk your heart’s path, you’ll feel grounded. It may not be as exciting, but it will feel easy. You’ll feel a sense of purpose in everything that you do, but if you give in to the voices of fear, you’ll be pulled in many different directions, chasing one thing until a new desire arises and leads you to chase another thing. When you follow your heart’s path, there is no chasing. There’s only alignment. There’s only one direction to travel in when you follow the guidance of your heart, and you may be asking yourself, “How do I know if the guidance I’m receiving is from my heart? How do I know, or how can I tell if I’m going in the right direction?”
But this is something that your mind will only say if it’s avoiding the path that it knows deep down you’re meant to walk. Because even amongst the confusing thoughts, deep down you really know what the right next path for you to walk is, and the next right step for you to take on that path. It’s easy, but it requires courage. And it also requires you to think about what’s best for your heart, not just for momentary pleasure and the satisfaction of your desires. Your mind’s desires will always be changing. Although you may reach them during certain moments of your life, a new desire inevitably arises, and this can be fun to satisfy your desires, but it must come secondary to you following your heart’s path. To you, living your purpose.
