The sun radiates warmth without trying to. The tree grows without effort. The birds sing and fly without any expectation of what their future will bring.
All of life happens in the present. It’s only the human mind that can wait to be happy, by postponing their own life for a future moment that may never arrive.
Having something to strive for is wonderful, but you must enjoy the journey toward it, or you’ll be waiting for something outside of yourself to happen before your life begins.
Life is happening all around you, right now. Regardless of what you do, time moves forward, and life happens. Surrender the idea that you must work hard to build a life you love.
Life is happening now, regardless of what you do, as calmly and certainly as a river flows down the Earth’s surface by the pull of gravity.
You have Free-Will, which you get to use while navigating the world, but it’s essential to use this gift you were born with to live the life you want to experience now.
The idea that a happy, fulfilling life must be earned after a lifetime of hard work can prevent you from seeing the beauty that exists all around you.
What if this moment is the future your younger self used to dream of? What if the problems you’re currently facing are part of the dance of life, and even have beauty in them if you open your full sight to see it?
There is never a need to deny unwanted life circumstances, but there is also no need to wait until your life is perfect and all your problems are gone before you give yourself permission to enjoy it.
Your life is happening right now! This is it. Time is passing in its own rhythm, and things are happening. Everything around you is changing, because that is what life does; it always changes.
The idealized future moment that a part of you is waiting for may come, or it may not. Even if that future moment arrives precisely as you imagine, the joy it brings will be temporary, and that moment will soon be replaced with a new one.
There is no need to build your life around a perceived future moment that isn’t guaranteed. The only thing you can be absolutely certain of is the present moment you’re experiencing right now.
If you find happiness in the present, regardless of what temporary life circumstances you’re experiencing, you’ll know how to find joy in every future, present moment of your life.
