The most significant benefit that practicing gratitude adds to your happiness is helping you to see and appreciate all the blessings that are right in front of you. There is already so much for you to be grateful for that can add immense amounts of joy to your life when fully appreciated.
You can express gratitude for the wonderful body that supports you, the relationships that nourish you, the food and drinks that please you, and the gift of having this incredibly rare human experience. It’s beautiful to manifest more blessings into your life, but the greatest source of happiness comes from appreciating the miracles that are already abundant in your life.
Today’s Meditation: Appreciate the Little Things
There is already so much beauty in your life, and when you see it clearly, you discover that you’re already living your unique version of heaven on earth.
Reflect on what you’ve experienced earlier today, and notice what happened that you’re genuinely grateful for. The moments you appreciate will likely be simple, everyday things such as waking up after a good sleep, drinking a delicious beverage in the morning, or interacting with someone you love.
Society may say or imply that only significant life milestones are worthy of celebration, but no rule says important events always bring more gratitude than smaller events.
It’s up to you to decide how much gratitude you want to experience for any particular experience in your life. Just because you have a similar experience every day doesn’t make it any less magical.
As you move through this masterclass, you’ll discover that gratitude has very little to do with the specific things you express gratitude for, and instead has nearly everything to do with the perspective through which you view those things.
