Today is the first day back in the city after a 5-day hiking trek in Nepal. It was really hard, but I’m a different person now.
I know that sounds cliché, but this trip changed me. There was one night in particular I must share. It was the third night, after walking around for 6-7 hours per day.

My body was tired, but my mind was exhausted. Walking that long each day brings a ton of awareness to my own thinking, and I was getting more drained from my unpleasant thinking, which kept running on predictable loops, than my body was from the walking.
I was starting to feel very sick and uncomfortable that night. As I was lying in bed, all ready to fall asleep, I suddenly had the urge to blast my mind with as many positive affirmations as I could.
